COMMERCIAL INTEREST

Commercial Disclosure

RapidCents sells payment processing, so it has a direct commercial interest in most of what it publishes, and no amount of careful sourcing removes it. The interest is stated rather than managed quietly: every comparison page says RapidCents is one of the providers being scored and links to the model so a reader can inspect it. No inclusion, exclusion, ranking or placement is purchased, no affiliate commission is earned on providers evaluated, and a partner is scored on the same criteria as a non-partner.

What is disclosed, and what is never for sale

  • What the interest is

RapidCents sells payment processing, terminals, point-of-sale software and related services. Nearly every topic on this site touches something it sells. The disclosure exists because the interest is structural rather than occasional, and a reader should assume it is present rather than look for it.

  • Where the disclosure appears

On the comparison page itself, near the comparison, rather than on a policy page a reader would have to go looking for. It names RapidCents as one of the compared providers and links to the scoring model that governs the page.

  • Placement is not for sale

No paid inclusion, no paid ranking, no sponsored positions, and no advertising inside comparison or research content. A provider cannot buy its way onto a page, and it cannot buy its way off one either.

  • Partner relationships are disclosed on the page

RapidCents runs referral, software and technology partner programs. Where a page discusses a partner, the relationship is stated there. Excluding partners would distort the comparison; including them silently would mislead.

  • Partnership is not a scoring criterion

The comparison model has nine criteria and a commercial relationship is not among them. A partner and a non-partner are scored the same way, from the same first-party evidence, against the same published weights.

  • No affiliate monetization of evaluative content

Comparison and research content is not monetized through affiliate commissions on the providers being evaluated. If that changes, this page states it and dates the change rather than leaving a reader to infer it.

  • Marketing is labelled as marketing

Product pages argue for a purchase and are built to do that. Research and comparison pages argue about what is true and carry their method. A marketing claim is never dressed as a finding, and a finding is never written to close a sale.

  • What a reader should do anyway

Read the method, check the first-party sources, and settle the pricing question on your own processing statement rather than on anyone’s comparison page — this one included. Fee Check computes an effective rate from a statement you already hold.

Questions about this policy: Commercial Disclosure

Why should I trust a comparison written by one of the competitors?

Not on trust — on method. The scoring model is published in advance with its weights, pricing evidence comes from first-party provider sources with verification dates, RapidCents is scored on the same criteria as everyone else, and any error can be reported and corrected through a public route. If a comparison cannot survive that inspection it does not deserve to be believed, whoever published it.

Does RapidCents accept payment for a favourable review?

No. There is no arrangement of any kind under which money changes a score, an inclusion, a ranking or a placement.

Do you write about your own partners?

Yes, with the relationship disclosed on the page and the same scoring applied. The alternative — quietly leaving partners out of comparisons — would be a larger distortion and a much less visible one.

Does sales review content before it publishes?

Subject-matter review is done by the function that owns the material: compliance, information security, hardware operations or legal. Sales holds no approval right over an editorial conclusion and cannot require a change to one. The editorial policy sets out how that separation works in practice.

Is this page itself marketing?

It is a policy page, and it exists partly because publishing standards is good for RapidCents. That is also a commercial interest, and disclosing it does not weaken the policy: a commitment written down in public is one a reader can hold RapidCents to, which is the entire point of writing it down.
