About the role
RapidCents is seeking a meticulous and adaptable Bookkeeper and Accountant who will play a pivotal role in our dynamic team. As a company at the forefront of tech innovation, we are on an exciting growth trajectory, and we value the well-being and progression of our employees above all.
Why join RapidCents?
RapidCents covers payment API integration, invoicing, virtual terminals, tokenized card storage, recurring payments and account updater. The finance work sits behind all of it: the reconciliation, the reporting and the books that have to agree with what actually settled.
What the role involves
In the role of Bookkeeper and Accountant, you will be entrusted with maintaining comprehensive sets of records, managing accounts, and ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately. The title speaks for itself, but we expect more: an ability to independently handle client year-end bookkeeping, prepare compilation engagement files, and draft corporate tax returns. While experience in these areas is beneficial, we are prepared to offer support and training to bolster your expertise.
You will also draft personal tax returns. If that is new to you, it is not a problem: RapidCents will train you, and will enrol you in a tax return preparation course.
Terms and compensation
Full-time, permanent position.
Office-based, with a degree of flexibility to accommodate personal and family time, especially during the workweek and holidays.
Compensation is competitive, reflective of experience, and supplemented with bonuses.
No traditional benefits plan is offered.
Daily duties
Your daily duties will encapsulate a range of activities for RapidCents and sister companies but are not limited to:
Maintaining financial records and managing various accounts both manually and through computerized systems
Posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements
Managing payroll, PD7A, utility, tax, and other bills
Completing tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contributions, and other government documents
Providing personal bookkeeping services and preparing tax returns
Creating statistical, financial, and accounting reports
Handling accounts payable and receivable, including customer follow-ups
Overseeing inventory management and reconciliation
Prepare and submit Fintrac reports.
Oversee ACH transfers/cheques.
