About RapidCents

  1. RapidCents is a leading Canadian payment processor providing advanced payment solutions for businesses of all sizes. We specialize in secure, scalable, and innovative platforms, helping businesses streamline their payment processes with ease. As we continue to grow, we're looking for passionate individuals to join our mission of powering seamless payments across industries.

About the Role

  1. We are looking for a highly skilled Kotlin App Developer and QA Specialist to join our expanding team at RapidCents. The role combines building Android applications with testing them, so it suits someone who wants to own both sides of a release rather than one. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Kotlin development and 1 year of QA/testing experience.

Key Responsibilities: Kotlin Development

  1. Develop, enhance, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.

  2. Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Developers to deliver high-quality features.

  3. Ensure code quality through unit testing, peer reviews, and coding best practices.

  4. Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.

  5. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and integrate best practices into app development.

Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance

  1. Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.

  2. Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) on mobile applications.

  3. Automate test cases wherever feasible using tools like Espresso, Appium, or equivalent.

  4. Identify, document, and track bugs using project management and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira).

  5. Ensure product releases meet the highest quality standards through rigorous QA methodologies.

Requirements: Technical Skills

  1. Minimum 3 years of Kotlin development experience.

  2. Minimum 1 year of QA/testing experience.

  3. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android Studio, and mobile app architecture patterns (MVVM, MVP).

  4. Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Espresso, JUnit, Appium).

  5. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, secure coding practices, and app publishing processes.

  6. Good understanding of continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.

Requirements: Additional Skills

  1. Attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering high-quality software.

  2. Problem-solving mindset with excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.

  3. Ability to thrive in a collaborative, Agile/Scrum environment.

  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to Have

  1. Experience with Jetpack Compose.

  2. Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).

  3. Knowledge of performance tuning and mobile application security best practices.

  4. Previous experience with payment gateways or financial technologies is a plus.

On-site Requirement

  1. Please note: This is an on-site position based in Thornhill. We are seeking candidates who are able to commute to our office location every working day. If you are seeking a remote or hybrid role, this position will not be a match.

Send your CV and contact details. The hiring team reads every application, and you get a reference number straight away.

Frequently asked questions

What file formats can I send, and how large can the file be?

PDF, DOC, DOCX or RTF, up to 5 MB. The form checks the file itself rather than its name, so renaming a Pages or ODT document to .doc will not get it through — export it to PDF instead. A CV over 5 MB is usually carrying images; a plain PDF export will fit.

What happens after I apply?

The form sends your details and your CV to the RapidCents people handling that posting, then shows you a reference number. No response time is published and we are not promising one. To check on an application, email [email protected] and quote your reference.

Can I apply for more than one role?

Yes. Apply from each posting separately, so the right CV and note reach the right role. The form accepts up to five submissions an hour from one connection, which is more than applying to every posting on this page takes.

Is my CV shared outside RapidCents?

It is not sold and it is not passed to other employers. It is read by the RapidCents people involved in hiring, and handled by the service providers that run our hosting and email — the category described in section 6 of the Privacy Policy, which are bound by contract to use it only for the service they provide us.

How do I withdraw an application, or have it deleted?

Email [email protected] with your reference number, or write to the Privacy Officer at the address in the Privacy Policy. The policy commits to confirming receipt, possibly asking for enough information to verify who you are, and answering within thirty days.

Why are some of these postings dated years ago?

Because they are. Each posting kept its original publication date when it moved to this site rather than being quietly re-dated, and any role nobody has reconfirmed as open is shown as unconfirmed rather than advertised as live.
