About RapidCents

RapidCents is a payment technology company serving merchants who take money in person, online and through their own software. Terminals and POS, gateway and hosted checkout, payment links, invoicing, recurring billing, tokenization and reporting run on one merchant account, so a counter sale and a payment link fund into the same deposit and reconcile in the same export. Pricing is interchange-plus, which prints the markup as a line item rather than averaging it into one blended rate.

In detail

  • Built for acceptance

PIN debit, chip and tap, bilingual receipts and settlement are core requirements here, not afterthoughts bolted onto a US product. Every merchant-facing surface ships in English and French.

  • Interchange-plus by default

Pricing separates network interchange from the RapidCents markup, so an effective rate can be audited rather than taken on faith. Divide a month of total fees by that month’s processed volume and the result is what you are actually paying.

  • One platform, every channel

In-person, online and agent-taken payments post to the same ledger, so reconciliation is one report instead of three, and a refund issued from the dashboard behaves the same way whichever channel took the original sale.

  • One merchant account behind it

Adding a channel is not a second application, a second contract and a second pricing negotiation. The account underwritten for in-person acceptance is the account that carries the online volume.

  • Card data stays outside your systems

Hosted checkout, Rapid.js fields and validated terminals keep card numbers off merchant infrastructure, and tokenization replaces a stored card with a reference that is useless anywhere except RapidCents.

  • Reporting built for month-end

Transactions, deposits, refunds and disputes across every channel sit in one dashboard, which is what makes a settlement view reconcilable against a bank statement without rebuilding it by hand.

Questions about About RapidCents

Is RapidCents a bank?

No. RapidCents is a payment technology company. It supplies the gateway, the terminals and software, and the merchant account your card volume is authorized and settled against, while the card networks and acquiring banks sit behind that. Deposits arrive in the business bank account you nominate, which is why the settlement view is built to be reconciled against a bank statement.

Where is RapidCents based, and how do I reach a person?

RapidCents Inc. is at 515 Consumers Road, Unit 210, North York, Ontario M2J 4Z2, with a United States address at 43300 Southern Walk Plaza, #166, Ashburn, Virginia 20148. The support line is +1 (844) 957-2743, with +1 (202) 902-6226 as the United States number, and [email protected] reaches the same team.

Do I have to move every payment channel at once?

No. Most businesses start with the channel causing the most trouble and add the rest once it is running. Because the channels settle to the same account, adding one later is a configuration change on an account that already exists, and the transaction history built in the meantime stays in one place.

When does a deposit land, and how do I tie it back to sales?

The batch closes nightly and eligible merchants typically receive the deposit for it on the next business day; cutoff times and holidays apply. Each deposit carries the batch behind it: which transactions it came from, what was deducted and when the money landed. Reporting is deposit-level for that reason, so month-end ties a settlement back to individual sales, refunds and fees rather than to one net figure nobody can decompose.

Which cards and payment methods can I accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PIN debit, depending on how your terminal or checkout is configured, with Discover on United States accounts. Alongside those sit bank payments, payment links and QR for the situations a card reader does not cover. Settlement in US dollars is the standard case.

How long does it take to open a merchant account?

The application is short; verification sets the pace. A payment provider has to establish the legal identity of the business, its directors and its beneficial owners and screen those parties, so having incorporation and ownership documents to hand is the largest single factor in how quickly an account opens.
