Wireless acceptance anywhere
Mobile terminals for tableside, curbside and field payments
A mobile terminal is a battery-powered wireless payment device staff carry away from a fixed counter. RapidCents mobile terminals connect over LTE or Wi-Fi, so servers close checks at the table, technicians collect on the job site and vendors sell at events without cabling. Tips are selected on screen before the tap, receipts go by email or SMS, and transactions attribute to the server or technician who took them. Cellular plans may apply depending on the device program.

Questions about Mobile Terminals
How long does the battery last?
Most shifts cover a full service day. Charge overnight or between events.
Does LTE cost extra?
Cellular data plans may apply depending on device program.
Can mobile terminals print receipts?
Many models support optional Bluetooth printers or digital receipts.
Works indoors with weak cell signal?
Wi-Fi fallback is available when configured on supported models.
Do mobile terminals need Wi-Fi, or is cellular enough?
Either. LTE carries the transaction where venue Wi-Fi is congested or absent, which is the usual case at events and on job sites, and Wi-Fi fallback is available on supported models for indoor spots with weak signal. Configure both if the device moves between a dining room and a patio.
How do receipts work without a printer?
The customer chooses email or SMS on the device and the receipt sends immediately after approval. Many models also pair with an optional Bluetooth printer if a paper copy is expected, which some field and trade customers still want alongside the invoice.
Can I see which server or technician took each payment?
Yes. Transactions attribute to the staff member assigned on the device, which is what makes tip reporting and end-of-shift accountability possible. Tip data exports for payroll reconciliation, and a staff PIN lock keeps the payment app closed to whoever picks the device up.
What is the difference between a mobile terminal and Tap to Pay on a phone?
A mobile terminal is purpose-built hardware: it reads chip cards, takes PIN for PIN debit and prints or sends receipts. Tap to Pay uses a phone you already own and is contactless only. Choose the terminal when PIN debit and chip insert matter, and Tap to Pay when the lowest hardware cost does.
