Newsroom

The RapidCents newsroom publishes dated, attributable announcements and the documentation each one rests on, so a claim can be read against the product rather than against the release. Paid placements, self-nominated lists and badges with no named issuer or date are deliberately absent. Journalists and analysts send enquiries through the company contact route with the outlet, the question and the deadline, and the Trust Centre, security, PCI compliance and subprocessor pages can be read without asking.

Awards and recognition

  • August 12, 2026 — CIO Awards Canada 2026

Awarded by IDC Canada. IDC's press release of 12 August 2026 names RapidCents Inc among the winners.

  • June 5, 2026 — Canadian Choice Award 2026

Awarded by Canadian Choice Award. Awarded at the Canadian Choice Award gala on 5 June 2026. The issuer publishes no per-winner record, so this links to the awarding body rather than to a page naming RapidCents.

  • November 13, 2025 — CIO Awards Canada 2025

Awarded by IDC Canada. IDC's published 2025 winners list includes RapidCents Inc. The list names winners without per-winner categories, so none is claimed here.

Recent announcements

  • APPIE, payment interoperability

APPIE lets terminals and hosts work across processor boundaries, so hardware and integrations survive a provider change instead of anchoring a merchant to one.

  • Chargeback Protection and Fee Intelligence

Statement analysis and chargeback prevention for high-volume merchants, pairing an effective-rate breakdown with dispute tooling.

  • Expanded POS coverage

Restaurant, Retail and Grocery POS from one provider, with processing priced separately from the software so the rate stays comparable.

What gets published here

  • Dated and attributable

Every entry carries a date and a named source, so a reader can verify it independently rather than treat this page as the source.

  • An announcement points at the documentation

A product announcement names the capability and links the page that documents it, so the claim can be read against the product rather than against the release.

  • What is not published

Paid placements, self-nominated lists and badges that cannot be traced back to a named issuer and a date. A short page is preferable to one filled with those.

  • Better evidence than a release

An interchange-plus statement you can decompose, PCI DSS documentation covering the processing environment, and a published subprocessor list. Those hold up to scrutiny in a way an announcement does not.

For journalists and analysts

  • Media enquiries

Send them through the company contact route. Include the outlet, the question and your deadline, and say whether you are looking for a named spokesperson or for background.

  • The company record

What RapidCents is, how the leadership responsibilities are divided and what the partner programs look like all live on the company pages rather than inside a release.

  • Diligence material

The Trust Centre, the security page, the PCI compliance page and the subprocessors page are the documents a reviewer reads directly, without having to ask for them. Section 9 of that last page publishes the register naming the providers it evidences, and sets out the route for obtaining the current full list.

  • Using the name and the marks

The trademark notice sets out how the RapidCents name and logo may be used in an article, a partner listing or a comparison.

Questions about the RapidCents newsroom

Is RapidCents a bank?

No. It is a payment technology company: it supplies the gateway, the terminals and the software, and the merchant account card volume is authorized and settled against, with the card networks and the acquiring banks behind that. Deposits arrive in the business bank account the merchant nominates.

What is APPIE, beyond the announcement?

An interoperability layer. At the terminal layer it lets point-of-sale software already in place drive RapidCents hardware without replacing the estate; at the host layer it serves platforms routing across more than one processor. The practical effect is that hardware and integrations survive a provider change instead of anchoring a business to one.

Which entity is RapidCents, and where does it operate from?

RapidCents Inc., with offices at 515 Consumers Road, Unit 210, North York, Ontario, and at 43300 Southern Walk Plaza, #166, Ashburn, Virginia.

Are executive appointments announced here?

Yes. The leadership page sets out how the responsibilities are divided rather than publishing a roster, and specific appointments are announced in this newsroom.

What is actually inside the Trust Centre?

The Security Statement, the PCI DSS scope and SAQ mapping, the data processing addendum, the privacy policy, the accessibility statement, the vulnerability disclosure route, and the subprocessor categories with what each is engaged to do and what it can reach. It gathers them in one place so a procurement or security review can begin before a call is booked rather than after one. Section 9 of the subprocessors page also publishes the register naming the providers it evidences. The Attestation of Compliance and the current full list of providers are the two things provided on request instead, and the PCI compliance page and the subprocessors page each set out how to ask.
